GY-NE250RF - Frequently Asked Questions

The motor doesn’t come on when first plugged in.

This is normal the compressor will click on between 1-10 minutes.

My refrigerator does not operate.

  • Check the unit is plugged in, and try another socket.
  • The circuit breaker has tripped or there is a blown fuse.
  • Check that the temperature control is set correctly.
  • If you have checked through the Frequently Asked Questions and your unit is still too warm, please take precaution for your food until a registered Acqua Service Agent is able to service your unit.

There are ice beads/water on back wall of my unit.

This is normal for this model as it is not frost free. It is Cyclic which cools by using a cycle/cooling plate situated inside and at the back of the fridge.  The ice beads/water is due to the condensation process of warm air (when fridge is opened) hitting cold air. This gathers on the back wall. The moisture forms small droplets of ice as the fridge cools and turns back to liquid form as the fridge enters a defrost cycle.

What temperature should I have my refrigerator be set at?

Setting “1” means highest temperature (warmest setting.)

Setting “7” means lowest temperature (coldest setting.)

A mid setting of “3” is generally a good starting point but depending on the ambient room temperature the setting may need to be adjusted. Refer user manual.

I've noticed things are freezing in my unit

  • Is the unit set at the correct temperature - refer to above section.
  • Do you have anything pushed up against the cooling plate, anything towards the back of the unit by the cooling plate will be colder and may freeze.

My unit leaks water out the front of it.

Check the drain hole on the left hand side above the vegetable/fruit drawer is clear of food so that any excess water runs into this and deposits the water in a tray on the compressor (motor). The heat from the motor evaporates the liquid into the air harmlessly. You may need to poke a kebab stick down or something similar to clear this blockage.

Is your unit leaning to far forward? You can adjust the feet to aid the water draining down the drain hole.

My unit is taking a long time to get down to set temperature.

  • Has a large amount of new food has been added?
  • Is the unit sealing correctly, try using a torch and closing the door, can see any light? Check the seal, these are designed to be taken out for cleaning, and pushed back into place.

My unit is going but the internal temperature is warm.

  • Can you hear the motor and is the internal light still working?
  • Check the temperature has been set correctly as per above.
  • Has there been a power outage or has the door been left open?
  • Is the unit sealing correctly, try using a torch and closing the door, can see any light? Check the seal, these are designed to be taken out for cleaning, and pushed back into place.
  • If you have checked through the Frequently Asked Questions and your unit is still too warm, please take precaution for your food until a registered Acqua Service Agent is able to service your unit.

Condensation/water is in the vegetable/fruit drawer.

Condensation forms by water produced by unwrapped vegetables. Store vegetables loosely wrapped in plastic bags. This unit does not have a humidity controlled vegetable/fruit drawer.

There is condensation on the outside of the refrigerator.

  • This is not unusual during periods of high humidity.
  • Ensure unit is out of direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Wipe outside of surface.

The internal light is not going.
