Motor doesn’t come on when first plugged in.

This is normal the compressor will click on between 1-10 minutes.

The door handle is loose

  • If you notice the handle on your door starting to loosen, use the allen key provided with your user manual to tighten your handle.

My Refrigerator does not operate.

  • Check plugged in, and try another socket.
  • The circuit breaker has tripped or there is a blown fuse.
  • Check that the temperature control is set correctly.
  • If you have checked through the Frequently Asked Questions and your unit is still too warm, please take precaution for your food until a registered Acqua Service Agent is able to service your unit.

The display on my door isn't working.

Even though the display may not be working, this doesn't mean your unit isn't cooling. Your unit will need to be assessed by a service agent, contact us on 0800 726 713 to arrange.

My unit is taking a long time to get down to set temperature.

  • Has a large amount of new food has been added? Use the Supercool function to assist in reaching the set temperature.
  • Is the unit sealing correctly, try using a torch and closing the door, can see any light? Check the seal, these are designed to be taken out for cleaning, and pushed back into place.

When should I use the Supercool function?

This function is primarily used if you have loaded a large amount of new food, had a power outage, had the door open for a long period of time either intentionally or by accident. Supercool will help the fridge reach set temperature quicker. This will automatically switch off after 6 hours. 

My unit is going but the internal temperature is warm?

  • Is the unit is Holiday mode? Refer to user manual.
  • Can you hear the motor and is the internal light still working?
  • Check the temperature, has it been set correctly.
  • Has there been a power outage or has the door been left open?
  • Is the unit sealing correctly, try using a torch and closing the door, can see any light? Check the seal, these are designed to be taken out for cleaning, and pushed back into place.
  • Try using the Supercool function, if this makes no difference you may need a service agent to assess the unit.

Should I adjust the set temperature?

This may vary due to ambient temperature fluctuations. Refer to user manual.

NOTE - Touch buttons require only a short press on a button to operate. The operation occurs when releasing your finger from the button, not while the button is being pressed.

Excessive noise / Bubbling and cracking

  • Is the floor underneath the fridge sturdy and level?
  • Is the fridge touching the wall. Re-level the fridge and check correct clearances.
  • Is the fridge situated on tiles or hard floor. Try placing some carpet or a mat underneath the unit.
  • Metal parts are expanding and contracting – this sound is normal.
  • Refrigerant is circulating throughout the system. This is normal.

The motor seems to run too much.

  • The room temperature is hotter than normal. Motor will run longer under warm conditions.
  • A large amount of food has been added to the fridge.
  • The door has been opened for period of time or is opened often.
  • The temperature control is not set correct – see user manual.
  • Check fridge has the correct clearances – see user manual.
  • The fridge has recently been disconnected for a period of time.
  • Is the unit sealing correctly, try using a torch and closing the door, can see any light? Check the seal, these are designed to be taken out for cleaning, and pushed back into place.

There is condensation on the outside of the refrigerator.

  • This is not unusual during periods of high humidity.
  • Ensure unit is out of direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Wipe outside of surface.

Door hard to open

  • Acqua products have strong seals to ensure energy efficiency.
  • The door will have suction after its just been closed, wait for 2 minutes and it will become easier to open.
