The motor doesn’t come on when first plugged in.

This is normal the compressor will click on between 1-10 minutes.

My freezer does not operate.

  • Check plugged in, and try another socket.
  • The circuit breaker has tripped or there is a blown fuse
  • Check that the temperature control is set correctly
  • If you have checked through the Frequently Asked Questions and your unit is still too warm, please take precaution for your food until a registered Acqua Service Agent is able to service your unit. 

The alarm light is on.

  • If you have loaded a large quantity of new food this is normal, put the Superfreeze on and the temperature should come down.
  • Check the set temperature is at the correct setting - Min means highest temperature, warmest setting, Max mean lowest temperature, coldest setting.
  • If you have checked through the Frequently Asked Questions and your unit is still too warm, please take precaution for your food until a registered Acqua Service Agent is able to service your unit. 

My unit is taking a long time to get down to set temperature.

  • Has a large amount of new food has been added? Use the Superfreeze function to assist in reaching the set temperature.
  • Is the unit sealing correctly, try using a torch and closing the door, can see any light? Check the seal, these are designed to be taken out for cleaning, and pushed back into place.

When should I use the Superfreeze function?

This function is primarily used if you have loaded a large amount of new food, had a power outage, had the door open for a long period of time either intentionally or by accident. Superfreeze will help the freezer reach set temperature quicker. Refer to user manual. 

PLEASE NOTE the mode of Superfreeze in this unit can not be auto-stopped, if you dont press the button again the compressor will run continuously or even non-stop.

Freezer based on getting to -18 in 24 hours with 20kg of new food. More than 20kg will take longer. Put Superfreeze on until unit reaches set temperature.

Excessive noise / Bubbling and cracking

  • Is the floor underneath the freezer sturdy and level?
  • Is the freezer is touching the wall. Re-level the freezer and check correct clearances.
  • Is the freezer is situated on tiles or hard floor. Try placing some carpet or a mat underneath the unit.
  • Metal parts are expanding and contracting – this sound is normal.
  • Refrigerant is circulating throughout the system. This is normal.

The motor seems to run too much

  • The room temperature is hotter than normal. The motor will run longer under warm conditions.
  • A large amount of food has been added to the freezer.
  • The door has been opened for period of time or is opened often.
  • The temperature control is not set correct – see instruction manual.
  • Check freezer has the correct clearances – see instruction manual.
  • The freezer has recently been disconnected for a period of time.
  • Is the unit sealing correctly, try using a torch and closing the door, can see any light? Check the seal, these are designed to be taken out for cleaning, and pushed back into place

There is condensation on the outside of the freezer.

  • Door is slightly open, causing cold air from inside the freezer to meet warm moist air from outside.
  • Condensation may condense during hot and humid days or depending on the place of installation.

Temperature on the outside and rear side of the freezer is hot/warm

In normal operation, the freezer transfers heat from inside to outside of the cabinet. It is normal for the side and rear of the freezer to feel warm/hot while operating. This will be more noticeable during start up and hot ambient conditions.

Door hard to open

  • Acqua products have strong seals to ensure energy efficiency.
  • Door will have suction after its just been closed, wait for 2 minutes and it will become easier to open.

Door Reversal

NOTE - It is recommended that a registered service agent carries out any door hinge modification at the customers cost. Any costs or subsequent damage that is incurred due to door modification will not be covered under warranty.
